About the Donor |
For Edmond and Sylvia Vanhaverbeke, having an institute of higher learning in their own community was of utmost importance, so much so that they have set up a planned gift. They value the opportunity that Ontario Tech University offers locally for full- and part-time students because they understand some students do not have the time or means to travel and stay outside the area. The Vanhaverbekes also recognize that a university in Durham Region adds economic, cultural and educational opportunities to the community. By providing Ontario Tech with infrastructure and scholarship support, they hope graduates will ‘pay it forward’ for future students so the rich tradition of learning and the benefits derived from higher education can continue. |
