General information	Two awards are available to eligible students. Students must: Be a full-time student enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Demonstrate financial need. Have achieved a GPA of 3.0.
About the Donor	Schneider Electric officials recognize the high calibre of Ontario Tech graduates who contribute to Canada’s knowledge-based community, in particular the Durham Region. A leading electrical distribution company, Schneider Electric generously donated $250,000 of equipment for Ontario Tech's Mechatronics and Robotics, Automation and Power System laboratories for training students in the engineering field by using newly acquired design skills. The gift also includes student co-op placements and internships designed to bridge the gap between academics and practical skills application. A focus on industrial products used in manufacturing promotes innovative thinking and solutions for this sector. The company has also established an endowed fund, which annually supports Ontario Tech student recipients of the Schneider Electric Award.
