Donor awards

Thanks to the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations that are members of the university community, there are a number of donor awards available to students. Working with the university, donors provide funding and help determine the name of the award and the criteria for eligibility. These awards provide a valuable and lasting resource for students in post-secondary studies.

Please note: You will be considered for donor award funding by completing a General Bursary and Donor Award application. Certain donor awards may require an additional application based on specific award criteria. All of these applications are available in August for each new academic year on MyCampus, along with information regarding eligibility requirements and deadlines for submission. You must have a valid university Student Number to access MyCampus.

Once your application is submitted, Student Awards and Financial Aid (SAFA) will review it and you will be notified of the results via your student email address.

The Joyce Foundation Success Award

The Joyce Foundation is making the dream of post-secondary education a reality. The $1 million donation will establish The Joyce Foundation Success Award, supporting first-year students from Durham Region and Northumberland County who have demonstrated financial need.

Each year, the Joyce Foundation Success Award will provide two bursaries of $4,000 each to students from a high school in Durham Region or Northumberland County who are entering full-time undergraduate studies in any faculty. Eligible students will have achieved a minimum of 75 per cent in their final year of high school, demonstrated financial need, and received a recommendation letter from a teacher or guidance counsellor.

Applications are closed for September 2019.
